Operations Manager (Co-Op Position)

Start/End Dates: May – August 2022
Hourly Wage: $15/hour
Hours per week: 35 hours/week (time off in lieu will be given for additional hours that may be required for promotional activities or special events in the makerspace)
Work location: Acadia University Campus, Wolfville NS (Raymond House)
Program of Study: Business, Community Development

The Operations Manager will be involved in preparing for the first fully operational semester at Steamspace (summer 2022).  The OM will have three main areas of responsibility: scheduling and planning community programming; providing support to faculty in planning their academic/classroom use of the makerspace; and scheduling and planning personal and recreational programming for Acadia students. Since Steamspace is in its start-up phase, the OM will also be responsible for the recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of student volunteers and ongoing development of procedures and routines used in the makerspace.

Become A Member of The SteamTeam

Want to know about a unique way to get involved on campus? Steamspace, in Raymond House, is in the final stages of becoming Acadia University’s first makerspace. It’s home to a variety of tools and equipment for twenty-first-century digital, design, and prototyping.

We are looking for students from all disciplines to join the SteamTeam; a group of student volunteers who will mentor other members of Steamspace by teaching them how to use equipment, troubleshoot, and help in the operation of the space.

You do not have to be a ‘tech’ person, or consider yourself ‘handy’ – in fact this opportunity is for anyone …
